Rahul Makam is a junior doctor from New Zealand with an interest in vision science. He is a current PhD candidate under the supervision of Patrick Yu-Wai-Man. His research focusses on inherited optic neuropathies to order to develop our understanding of disease biology and advanced therapies. He is supported by the Cambridge-Rutherford Memorial Scholarship.
