David Wong is an Ophthalmology Registrar and postdoctoral Clinical Research Associate investigating the clinical variability of inherited optic neuropathies. He is using multiple high throughput sequencing technologies to understand the links between genotype and phenotype.

This work is supported by the BMA Foundation’s 2022 Dawkin and Strutt grant, and is enabled by the NIHR Bioresource Rare Diseases RNA Phenotyping project.

In 2021, David graduated from medical school at Trinity College, University of Cambridge, where he also completed a PhD at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology, supervised by Dr John O’Neill. He studied the circadian regulation of the cellular proteome, and is excited to apply the skills learned to his current research project.
