Elizabeth Ashby recently joined the MitoCamb research group as a Clinical Research Coordinator. She graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2020 with a B.Sc in Biomedical Science.
At UoB, she worked within the Institute of Immunology and Immunotherapy on a project investigating novel immunostimulatory prodrugs. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked as a Healthcare Assistant and gained valuable patient-facing and clinical experience. This, combined with her interest in research, led her to pursue clinical research and she joined the GI and Lymphoma team at The Royal Marsden as a Research Assistant Practitioner in 2021.
Here she gained a wealth of experience supporting patients at study visits, using a variety of data collection methods for clinical trials, maintaining essential trial documentation, and facilitating monitoring activities for trial sponsors. In the MitoCamb team, Elizabeth is responsible for recruiting patients to the clinical studies and coordinating their study visits, as well as collecting clinical data and samples.
